Room @ Novena (2EssexRd)

Subletting!! I have 1 more room for rent.
1 common bedroom / master bedroom with attached bath available immediately for rent.

Now because the room is unfurnished. You finally have a chance to do it up yourself. It comes with built-in wardrobes and air-conditioning. (those... no need to buy!) What is lacking is only a bedframe & mattress.

My 8 meter long balcony is a chillout area that looks over tall trees at United Square's Starbucks and the Moulmein rd stretch of condominiums. Everything is a good distance away and avoids towering claustophobia, only one tall condo stands facing us with floor to ceiling windows as we observe the ongoings in each unit across us. The available master bedroom faces the same views while the common room sees a part of United Square and the rest of Kampong Java rd.

The living room houses my 9ft pool table right under the ceiling fan, or else 2 air-conditioners, which accomodates house parties and smaller gatherings rather nicely. Sofas and throw...

What is this fascinating contradiction that manages to inspire and motivate; and yet remains a universal mystery? Imagine, if LOVE could speak, what would it say?

Since resistance is futile, this collection serves to take a light-hearted shot at shedding light on what Love is. It's Carrie's birthday at Zouk and she (aka Mom) is joining me in being 30, the new 20s in todays context of stressful survival in such an urban jungle. Well now the sole purpose of turning 30 in trendy-today is to get sloshed by (not with) the persistence of your best friends alcohol feeding right? This clever girl brought her a bladder bodyguard (boyfriend) who was half-timing every feeding attempt we cheered to.
DSP5.Post Poetic Disorder

Deluxe Space Programme (DSP5) is an international mix of the rap music scene, covering underground names from France, Japan, Germany, London and America. Smooth for the cruise, horrible to work to.
I made this mix a couple of years back but never released it, so I hope that it ain't too late or out of fashion. In any case it was made in reflection of my appreciation of many genres of music, so this mix isn't even just strictly made from rap. I call it DSP5. Post Poetic

Taxidermia (2006)

Uberstrange is this independant film, but very well shot, well paced, and soundtracked by Amon Tobin. 3 stars but well worth checking out.
-
The film is in three sections, with each protagonist being the father of the next. Each of the three men is in the grip of some kind of obsession.
We begin during World War II, with medical orderly Vendel Morosgovány (Csaba Csene). Vendel is a hapless figure fixated on sex. At the beginning of the film he shows us his particular party piece by ejaculating a long flame from his penis. He wants to shag everyone with two X chromosomes in sight. Unfortunately for him, that includes his commander’s wife. The resultant child – once a pig’s tail has been removed – grows up to be Kálmán Balatony (Gergely Trócsányi), who in the 1960s becomes a champion speed-eater. This middle section allows Pálfi to indulge in some cynical jabs at the Communist era of Hungary’s recent past. Finally, we’re in the present, with Lajos, Kálmán’s son. Shy and retiring, he w...

Thank You For Smoking (2006)

This film is excellent! I've had the DVD from Ryan for a year now but have only just got down to posting about it.
It is about the art of the spin, a way with words, and the choices we make in life. For me it was a new perspective on the career of a lobbyist, a spokesperson who represents the ideals of a tabacco establishment, who is also the face of the establishment. Everything else is no harder to represent than tabacco, when you have to deal with organisations campaigning against the health aspects of cigarettes.
-
Nick Naylor, chief spokesman for Big Tobacco, makes his living defending the rights of smokers and cigarette makers in today's neo-puritanical culture. Confronted by health zealots out to ban tobacco and an opportunistic senator who wants to put poison labels on cigarette packs, Nick goes on a PR offensive, spinning away the dangers of cigarettes on TV talk shows and enlisting a Hollywood super-agent to promote smoking in movies. Nick's newfound notoriety attracts the...

Talk to Me (2007)

I found this movie truly entertaining and especially when it is also inspired by a true story of a person who began his career on prison radio.
-
In the mid-to-late 1960s, in Washington, D.C., vibrant soul music and exploding social consciousness were combining to unique and powerful effect. It was the place and time for Ralph Waldo "Petey" Greene Jr. to fully express himself--sometimes to outrageous effect--and "tell it like it is." With the support of his irrepressible and tempestuous girlfriend Vernell, the newly minted ex-con talks his way into an on-air radio gig at WOL-AM, where fellow prison inmate Milo's brother Dewey Hughes is the program director. At the station, Petey becomes an iconic radio personality, surpassing even the established popularity of his fellow disc jockeys, Nighthawk and Sunny Jim. Combining biting humor with social commentary, Petey openly courts controversy for station owner E.G. Sonderling. Petey was determined to make not just himself but his community...

Be Kind Rewind (2007)
Jerry (Jack Black) is a junkyard worker who attempts to sabotage a power plant he suspects of causing his headaches. But he inadvertently causes his brain to become magnetized, leading to the unintentional destruction of all the movies in his friend's (Mos Def) store. In order to keep the store's one loyal customer, an elderly lady with a tenuous grasp on reality, the pair re-create a long line of films including The Lion King, Rush Hour, Ghostbusters, When We Were Kings, Back to the Future, Driving Miss Daisy, and Robocop , putting themselves and their townspeople into it. They become the biggest stars in their neighborhood.

Fresh from the Housecat.
Unfortunately no video can be obtained to date, not even fan-made. Nevertheless an excellent preview of his latest, use a little bit of imagination and you'll see, strategically dropped loud before a dancefloor, reality will cease to
